Group Activities

Youth club

Befriend a Child delivers three community youth clubs across priority areas of Aberdeen, in Northfield Community Centre, Cummings Park Learning Centre and Kincorth Community Hub, supporting 50 children and young people over the course of a year.

Children and young people, aged 5 – 15 years old, attend on a weekly basis, after school during term-time. The clubs are run by our Youth Worker and supported by a team of trained local volunteers.

All three clubs are youth led, with the children and young people having a say in what activities are provided. They take part in crafts, baking, games, giving them the opportunity to build social skills and make new friends.

Group sessions

Befriend a Child hosts monthly group sessions for the children we support and their befrienders and mentors using the facilities at our base at 9 Bon Accord Square.

The children and their volunteers are invited to take part in activities such as baking and cooking, painting, games, and seasonal crafting. These activities give the children the opportunity to meet other children who in similar home situations as themselves.

Parties and outings

Throughout the year Befriend a Child host a range of parties such as our Easter Eggstravaganza, Halloween party and Christmas party, as well as an annual summer outing. All of our children and young people as well as their volunteers are invited to come along.
